WHO I am? I am an individual that likes the music known as MOR, Middle of the Road, music. I have quite a collection of music (collecting for 45 years now) that I've transferred to digital from vinyl (records), and purchased online. WHAT? Middle of the Road music is music that doesn't have a Country twang nor does it have a hard Rock and Roll beat. Nowadays it's called lounge music. I choose not to use that term since a lot of these lounge singers became big stars. No matter what name you choose to use for the music you'll find a lot of good listening. I could call this Beautiful Music because there is a lot of beautiful music in my library. Unfortunately, the people that like Beautiful Music (elevator music?) will be upset because I don't play enough songs by big orchestras. All of the songs in a Beautiful Music library have large string sections. Besides, every once in awhile I throw in songs that are up tempo. Songs one would never hear on a Beautiful Music station. WHEN? It's available 24/7 every week of the year. I have Dial Up and Broadband streams, as well as connections for mobile phones. Since there are no commercials in the web stream there's always a great song to enjoy. And the songs in the mix include the Standards, Broadway and Movie Music, and MOR versions of songs from the Rock and Country genres. HOW? How do I run this without commercials? Simple. It's a hobby. Most people turn hobbies into businesses, I turned a proposed business into a hobby. I had always wanted to run my own radio station and play great music. That proposed radio station never got off the ground. I had a lot of great music sitting around and gathering dust and not generating any income. Then, Internet Radio started getting popular and I decided to get on the bandwagon. Since I've had the music online I've been getting a lot of compliments from people who remember listening to these songs when they were younger. It brought back a lot of memories for a lot of people. WHY? Why not. If you want something different to listen to please try the music I play on MOR Memories. I have nearly 400 artists and over 1500 songs in the library. Please tune in and enjoy. Thank you. |
